NEA Part 3 - Media Theories Research

Introduction: In this blog i will be exploring media theories and how they can help me when it comes to doing my brief. Using this it will help me make my brief my own design.

As you can see on the front of the magazine, is a picture of Patrick Reed wearing a pink polo shirt and this pink/ bright and colourful theme is shown of the front cover with the yellow, blue and white. What would draw people into the magazine and would make them pic it up, is the reviews on the side, which further makes people want to buy it. The fact that there are all bright colour and then the words HERO OR VILLAIN are in black, shows that it needs to stand out. It also makes us think if he is good or bad because of his posture and his smile. To show that he is a golfer, if people didn't know, is the stereotypical outfit he is wearing, which makes him look professional. Furthermore the layout of the front cover is neat so it is enticing.





This magazine has the same sort of colour scheme throughout the front page: yellow, blue, white. Which creates a mysterious theme that links to the Doctor who world. People would of picked up the magazine because it says she is the first female doctor, which  is very weird  after the whole series.
This would be maybe because of feminism and how it has impacted the  modern world. This would raise attention because the doctor is a she and it is on the front page.







This person on the front of the magazine is represented as someone with a Bionic arm which raises attention as it is not normal to see. The white background assists the theme of the future of Bionics as it is peaceful and plain. As well as this the character who is smiling creates a happy mood, that is helped by the bright jumper and the red colour of the title. The man makes this pose to show off the arm and how futuristic it is, sticking with the theme throughout.

CONCLUSION

i think that i will take the idea of theme into my magazine and create it so the colours help make the theme understood and how the images and colour of the words come together.
